Bruno Mars and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will perform their hits during the MTV Video Music Awards in New York, MTV announced
.
Mars is set to unveil a new single from his Unorthodox Jukebox album for the first time on live television, MTV said.
This will be the third time the singer has performed at MTV's VMAs. He was nominated for four awards, including Video of the Year, Best Pop Video and Best Male Video for Locked out of Heaven, and Best Choreography for Treasure.
MTV said rappers Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will appear on the show, making them the first musical group to perform at all three of MTV's major music events in a single calendar year.
The two will perform their song in support of same-sex marriage, Same Love.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis got six VMA nods this year, including Video of the Year for Thrift Shop, Best Hip Hop Video, Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing for Can't Hold Us, featuring Ray Dalton, and Best Video with a Social Message for Same Love.
Previously announced performers for the VMAs, set to air live August 25 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, include Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke.
