Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Monday with French Minister of State for Development and Francophonie Jean-Marie Le Guen, Spokesman for the Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The two ministers underlined the special relation binding their countries and the importance of deepening it at political, economic and military levels and in countering terrorism, the spokesman added.
Shoukry expounded Egypt's vision on combating terrorism through drying up terrorist's weapon and funding resources and fighting radicalism, noting to the role played by the moderate religious institutions here in this regard.
The meeting tackled the relations between Egypt and the European Union, welcoming French investments that support economic reform process in light of unprecedented measures taken by the government to push ahead the development drive.
Shoukry briefed the French guest on the Egyptian stances toward regional crises especially in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq as well efforts exerted to restore Palestinian - Israeli peace process.
The French Minister asserted the importance of Egypt's role in the region and the moderate vision that fits with the European ones.
He invited Egypt to take part in "France-Africa" summit to be held in Mali on January 14.
