Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Saturday held a session of talks with his Norwegian counterpart Borge Brende and his accompanying delegation.
The talks tackled the developments in the Palestinian cause and means of supporting the peace process between the Palestinians and Israel, Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The Norwegian minister was keen on getting briefed on the Egyptian vision on important regional issues, topped by the Libyan crisis, Abu Zeid added.
Shoukry reviewed Egypt’s efforts and contacts with the Libyan parties to achieve consensus among them and secure full implementation of Skhirat deal.
The top Egyptian diplomat stressed the importance of Libya’s stability to Egypt’s national security.
The talks also took up the situation in Syria and efforts exerted by Egypt inside the UN Security Council to end the suffering of the Syrian people.
The two sides also discussed ways of boosting bilateral relations and encouraging Norwegian investments into Egypt.
