Abu Dhabi - Arab today

A total of 48 Tas’heel centres across the country will start accepting applications for recruiting domestic workers, an official said on Saturday

The move aims to implement the second phase of transferring domestic workers’ transactions to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation following the application of the first phase in Dubai last year.

Aisha Bel Harfia, Assistant-Undersecretary of the Domestic Workers Affairs at the ministry, said the ministry is coordinating with the UAE’s General Directorates of Residency and Foreigners Affairs to gear up for implementing the second phase of transferring domestic workers’ applications to the Ministry.

Applications will be received at 48 Tas’heel centres distributed as follows: 12 centres in the capital, 1 in the western region, 4 in Al Ain, 5 in Sharjah, 4 in Umm Al Quwain, Dhaid, Kalba and Khorfakkan, 3 in Ajman, 3 in Fujairah and 3 in Ras Al Khaimah as well as 13 centres in Dubai which started receiving applications since late last year.

Bel Harfia further said that more than 140 services counters have been allocated for Tas’heel centres with 58 counters in Abu Dhabi, 15 in Al Ain, 3 in Western Region, 22 Sharjah, 3 in Dhaid, 2 in Khorfakkan, 3 in Kalba, 10 in Ajman, 5 in Umm Al Quwain, 8 in Ras Al Khaimah, 8 in Fujairah, 3 in Dibba Al Fujairah and 60 service sections in Dubai

She noted that Tas’heel centres across the country will offer the same services being provided by the Dubai’s centres which include offering entry permits for new domestic workers, offering work permit/visas, and visa renewal.

Customers’ applications will be processed online and applications’ status will be sent through an e-mail or SMS to the phone number provided in applications. A copy of the entry permit for workers who will enter to the country for the first time will be also sent through emails, she added.

Tas’heel centres are being run by the private sector with national staff under the supervision of the Ministry
