The Reva NXG is a futuristic electric powered vehicle produced by the Indian manufacturer Reva. The NXG (Next Generation) looks a thousand times better than Reva's first electric vehicle, the G-Wiz, and hopefully it can help break the stigma of unattractive, function-driven styling of electric vehicles. Styled by Dilip Chhabria, the REVA NXG is an M1 category, two-door, two-seater car with a targa top. The Reva NXG also features Reva's new REVive technology. This system acts like an invisible reserve fuel tank and addresses 'range anxiety'. If a customer runs out of charge, they can telephone or SMS REVA's customer support centre. The advanced telematics feature will assess the car's batteries remotely and activate a reserve amount of energy while protecting the battery life. Within minutes, a few extra kilometres of range are made available via the telematics and the driver can continue home or to a place where the NXG can be charged. Due to go on sale in 2011 the Reva NXG has an 80 mph (130 km/h) top speed and a 125 mile (200 km) range. Using the fast charge, it has an effective range of 250 miles (400 kms) a day. Not ideal for cross-country touring, but absolutely perfect for cross city commutes and day-to-day driving.
