Florida - Arabstoday

The Marion Hyper-Sub is a submersible vehicle which also has the ability to run on the surface at impressive speeds. Powerful, versatile and cost-efficient, the Hyper-Sub is billed as "... the world’s first true general-purpose submarine. Operating as a self-sufficient powerboat on the surface, and as a robust submarine under the surface, the Hyper-Sub opens the door to undersea exploration in a way that has never been available before." The Marion Hyper-Sub will be available in three different versions, catering to all requirements. The HS-250 Sport is designed with individual owners and charter operators in mind for recreational and tourism use. It is able to dive to a depth of 250 ft (76m) and run on the surface at 40 knots. The other two models are intended for more demanding uses. The HS-600 has a maximum dive depth of 600 ft (182 m) and is intended for industrial, salvage, or government operations. The HS-1200 is configured for users requiring deeper dive applications, up to 1200 ft (365 m). All three version of the Hyper-Sub can be customized to suit the individual needs of the buyer. The Marion Hyper-Sub benefits from a design which allows for safe, comfortable and versatile use. The pressurized passenger compartment is accessed through a top hatch which is four feet above water level reducing the chance of the craft being swamped in rough weather. With the hatch closed in a storm, the Hyper-Sub is actually safer than a boat. It can even right itself if inverted. And the compartmentalized ballast system has such a high lifting capacity that the Hyper-Sub can suffer a 12 ton loss of buoyancy before losing its ability to surface. Marion Hyper-Sub is a Florida company formed in 2005. The company is headed by the company founder and inventor of the Hyper-Sub, Reynolds Marion. Currently the company is testing and developing the Hyper-Sub using the prototype vehicle named 'Fathom'.
