Jordan's King Abdullah II met here Tuesday with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano, and discussed scopes of cooperation between Jordan and the IAEA as well as Jordan''s efforts to harness nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The King hailed cooperation between Jordan and the international organization, especially in areas of nuclear safety and security, stressing support to the IAEA''s measures to ensure safe supply of nuclear fuel, Jordan Petra news agency reported. King Abdullah affirmed that Jordan is keen on becoming a model in the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and committing to highest safety standards, noting that Jordan is seriously looking into lessons learned from Japan''s Fukushima nuclear accident. Amano commended Jordan''s cooperation with the IAEA and said the Kingdom is an active partner in the international organization''s Board of Governors.
