Ayoon Wa Azan (Non-stop attacks on Obama)

Jihad el-Khazen

I pick up from where I left off yesterday, to say that Barack Obama is either devoid of all feelings, and I do not see him as such, or he is waiting for the opportunity to take revenge against the Israel gang in the United States. The gang attacks him every day, lies and tries to thwart all his efforts, even to overcome the financial crisis caused by the war advocates - that is, the advocates of death for America’s youth for the sake of Israel. A headline in front of me reads: “Where Is the Outrage over Obama’s Lies?”—in reference to Obama’s proclamation that U.S. oil production increased under his administration by 1.1 million barrels per day. This has indeed taken place, between 2007 and 2012, but the Likudniks considered his statement to be a lie because oil production increased in non-federal lands - that is, lands not owned by the state. I have another story in 16 full pages with a video, about a panel discussion titled “Obama’s Assault on the Constitution,” held by the David Horowitz Freedom Center. This center often defends Israel’s crimes, which is sufficient to discredit it and invalidate its arguments. Furthermore, Barack Obama is a professor of the U.S. constitution and a Harvard graduate. All of the pro-Israel gang combined and multiplied probably knows less about the constitution than the president. News stories in major U.S. papers are usually accurate and reliable. However, it is a different matter for op-ed sections, which sometimes spew poison on account of the advocates of Israel, who are left to roam in them free, defending the occupation, and its destruction and murder against Palestinians. For instance, the Washington Post is a prestigious newspaper, but its op-ed page is often smeared with the Likudnik inclinations of people like Charles Krauthammer. Krauthammer is a perpetual apologist for Israel, and subsequently, he always finds reasons to attack Barack Obama. Even an article on the budget and spending cuts by this author was titled “Hail Armageddon,” as though Obama’s position was equivalent to the end of the world. I returned to Krauthammer because of one rare article he once wrote defending Obama. How so? Well, he was defending the war on terrorists using drones, which habitually kill civilians along with the targeted combatants. However, Krauthammer is not concerned by that, having endorsed the war on Iraq that killed one million Arabs and Muslims, and supports all killings that target the latter, to the extent that he would set aside his hostility to Obama to back him and the drones. The New York Times claims to be the most prestigious newspaper in the world. I do not necessarily disagree with this, but again, I found the paper’s op-ed section to give a free pass to the advocates of Israel, who are countered by a minority from the other side, so that the paper can claim to be objective in what it publishes. I limit myself to one example today, involving Bill Keller. In 2011, Keller quit the paper as executive editor, and currently pens a weekly column published every Monday. Keller is a self-styled “liberal,” but in my book, any supporter of Israel cannot be a liberal. Keller began this month with an article titled “Obama’s Fault,” in which he blamed the president for the ongoing financial crisis. But the crisis was unleashed by the lost wars of George W. Bush, and persisted because the Republican Party wanted to abort Obama’s presidency, given the African-American president’s annoyance with the extremism of Netanyahu and the ruling gang in Israel. It is clear where Bill Keller’s loyalties lie. Indeed, he had defended Judith Miller, after she reproduced the lies of Iraqi dissidents on the front pages of the New York Times, in order to justify a war based on false premises against Iraq. He also backed the newspaper’s correspondent in Israel Ethan Bronner, after the latter’s son enlisted in the Israeli occupation army, which Keller claimed was conducive to obtaining news – from one side of course. A few days ago, Keller wrote an article titled “Catholicism Inc.” My response to that would be “Israel Inc.” or “Crime Inc.” One last example is William Kristol, the leader of the neocon gang that lobbied for the Iraq war. In his publication, I read an article he wrote titled “Indefensible,” in which he calls Barack Obama a terrible commander-in-chief. Obama would only be a great commander-in-chief for Israel, if he sends America’s youths to die in aggressive wars in the service of Israel. But I don’t think that he will. --- The views expressed by the author do not necessarily represent or reflect the editorial policy of Arabstoday.
