The Turkish military said Thursday that it killed 23 Islamic State (IS) terrorists in Al-Bab, in northern Syria, in the previous 24 hours.
According to the Turkish General Staff, 230 terrorist targets, including hideouts, defense positions, command centers, and vehicles, were shelled.
Meanwhile, Turkish jets struck 24 IS positions in Bab, Bzagah, Tadif and Qabr al-Mukri districts, destroying 19 buildings, ammunition depot and an observation post used by terrorists.
A total of 3,209 improvised explosive devices and 55 mines have been destroyed since the beginning of the Euphrates Shield Operation, which was launched last August against both the IS and the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), the military wing of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD).
Turkey regards the YPG and the PYD as terrorist organizations due to their links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
