Syrian regime forces on Friday heavily shelled Kurdish-held areas in the northeastern city of al Hasakah, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. 

According to the observatory, the bombardment continued targeting Kurdish security forces (Asayish) locations north of the city. 

There are continued clashes between the two sides in al Hasakah, the London-based monitor group said.
