Sounds of explosions were heard in areas controlled by the Syrian opposition in eastern Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported Wednesday.

The blasts are likely to have occurred as a result of a missile attack by the regime troops, according to Sky News Arabia.

Officials with the Syrian opposition and eyewitnesses said government troops resumed raids on neighborhoods eastern Aleppo.

The strikes stopped after nearly half an hour, they added.
