London - Arab Today
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said more than 100 persons were killed in four-day battles in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo.
Battles between Assad forces and armed groups erupted on Sunday around Khan Touman and El Ais in Aleppo, leaving 61 militants and 40 Syrian soldiers dead, the group said.
Assad forces are trying to retake El Ais which was seized by Nusra Front militants who on their part are trying to seize the regime-controlled Khan Touman.
The battles coincide with the resumption of Geneva indirect negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition under the sponsorship of the UN, threatening an end to the six-week truce approved by the US and Russia.
