Dozens killed, injured in Syria car bomb blast

At least 12 members of Hay'at Tahrir al Sham were killed in a suicide car bomb blast in Syria on Wednesday.

A source at the Syrian armed opposition told Russia Today TV channel that the explosion targeted a group of Islamist opponents, who were gathering inside a textile factory near Idlib governorate in northwestern Syria.

The attack left scores injured, the source added.

Hay'at Tahrir al Sham (Organization for the Liberation of the Levant) is an active Salafist jihadist militant group involved in the Syrian civil war.

The group was formed on January 28, 2017 as a merger between Jabhat Fateh al Sham (formerly al Nusra Front), the Ansar al Din Front, Jaysh al Sunna, Liwa al Haqq, and the Nour al Din al Zenki Movement.
