People and Syrian Army members inspect a damaged site after a suicide and car bomb attack

A Daesh suicide bomber committed the attack on the Syrian city of Azaz, near the border with Turkey, Syrian Observatory or Human Rights (SOHR) Director Rami Abdul Rahman said on Friday.

The SOHR director added that a booby-trapped car was used in the attack that targeted an opposition checkpoint northern Syria.

The attack left scores of people dead and injured, Abdul Rahman told the BBC, adding that the death toll is expected to increase.
