Around 34 people were killed on Monday in violent clashes between Syrian regime forces and pro-government armed men on one side, and opposition gunmen on the other in coastal Latakia province, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported. Opposition gunmen were able to counter attacks initiated by Syrian regime for, national defense, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Iskenderun, SOHR noted. However, a military source stated to Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that Syrian military forces have completely controlled Observatory 45 area in in the north Latakia. In Damascus, the Syrian regime''''s warplanes attacked several areas in Jobar district earlier today, killing four civilians, including two children, injuring a number of others, and causing major property damages, said SOHR. It also said that armed confrontation took place at Ras Al-Ain area in Qalamoun at outskirts of Damascus between opposition gunmen and regular forces, causing death of a field commander in regime''''s army.
