Taliban bomb targets

A busy part of central Kabul has been hit by a suicide bombing, aimed at a convoy of foreign troops, SkyNews reported.

It is understood that the bomb went off at 9.20am local time near a market in Joye Sheer in the city center as the convoy of troops was moving through.

Najib Danish, deputy spokesman for the country's Interior Ministry, said: "It was a suicide bombing against a foreign forces convoy in a crowded part of the city and there are casualties."

Later in the morning, General Abdul Rahman Rahimi, police chief in Kabul, said: "A suicide bomber driving a Corolla car hit an armored vehicle belonging to the foreign forces and exploded.
