A suicide bomber, wearing an explosive belt, detonated himself Monday and targeted civilians in the Shiite-dominated al Amel district in southwestern Baghdad.

In press statements, the spokesman of the Baghdad Operations Command Saad Ma'an said that the incident left some civilians injured.

The Iraqi capital Baghdad witnesses blasts by explosive charges, booby-trapped cars and suicide attacks by explosive belts every now and then organized by Daesh terrorist group to destabilize Baghdad.
