At least 12 Iraqi policemen and army soldiers were killed on Wednesday evening in an armed attack in Salaheddin Province in north Baghdad, a security source said. Unknown gunmen on a vehicle attacked a joint army and police checkpoint in the north of Salaheddin, leaving 12 police and army men dead, the source added.
