Iraqi troops liberated on Friday al Baghdadi island in Anbar province, in the west of Iraq, from the terrorist Daesh group.

This came as part of a security campaign that was launched on Tuesday to purge al Ramadi and al Baghdadi islands in Anbar from Daesh militants.

The Iraqi troops killed several Daesh militants and destroyed a large number of their armed vehicles in the military campaign, a military statement said.
