Car bomb blast at a market in Sadr City

The casualty toll from the explosion which took place at a marketplace east of Baghdad city has risen to 7 dead and 15 wounded, said Spokesman for the Baghdad Operations Command Brigadier General Saad Moen Sunday. 

The terrorist attack occurred when a booby-trapped car, driven by a suicide bomber, blew up at the entrance of a marketplace in Sadr city, east of Baghdad.

Moen had earlier said that a policeman noticed a suspicious car that was approaching the area in which he opened fire, then the car exploded.

The soldier is among the people who were injured in the terror blast, Moen added.
