Explosion of an air strike

The US-led international coalition continued to attack Daesh terrorists in Iraq, conducting 11 airstrikes, the Combined Joint Task Force said in a statement.

"The coalition continues to demonstrate its ability to strike Daesh unimpeded," said Brigadier General Thomas Weidley, coalition chief of staff.

"The coalition takes every possible measure during the targeting process to mitigate possible risk to civilians, while maximizing the effects on Daesh."

Near Al Huwayjah, three airstrikes struck a Daesh tactical unit and two staging areas, destroying a vehicle owned by the terrorist group, the statement said.

Near Bayji, four airstrikes struck one large and two small Daesh tactical units, destroying five fighting positions, eight structures, six fuel tanks, three vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices and a vehicle, it added.

Near Mosul, one airstrike struck a Daesh tactical unit, destroying two buildings and a fighting position, the statement said.

Near Ramadi, two airstrikes struck one large and one small tactical units, destroying four Daesh structures and a mortar system, it noted.

Near Sinjar, one airstrike struck a Daesh tactical unit, destroying three fighting positions and three buildings, it concluded.
