Three leaders of Daesh terrorist group were killed on Saturday in airstrikes in Hawija district in Kirkuk governorate.

The air strikes targeted Daesh outposts, gatherings and front defense lines. Air raids resulted in four strong explosions that hit the area, Al Alsumaria news channel reported, quoting a local source as saying. 

There are confirmed reports that Daesh Mufti of Kirkuk province was killed during the attacks, the source noted.

Security forces backed by Popular Mobilization Forces started on Thursday a wide scale military operation to liberate Hawija and the surrounding areas from Daesh.
