25 Kurds killed in clashes in Iraq's Kirkuk

Medical sources in Sulaymaniyah hospital in Iraqi Kurdistan region said Tuesday that they have received 25 bodies of Kurdish fighters killed in clashes on Monday in the disputed city of Kirkuk, north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, ABC news reported.

Head of Emergency Room in Sulaymaniyah Hospital Doctor Omeid Hama Ali said that the hospital treated 44 other wounded fighters.

On Monday, the Iraqi forces seized control over a number of oil and gas facilities near Kirkuk, while the Kurdish fighters retreated amid sporadic clashes.

Ever since then, the Kurdish fighters have been retreating from disputed areas in northern and eastern Iraq.
