A fighter of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces was killed and another injured in an explosion that targeted a checkpoint in Diyala governorate.

An explosive device has been placed near a checkpoint northwestern Diyala's Baqubah district, a local source told Al Arabiya news channel.

The source added that security forces have cordoned off the scene of the attack and launched an investigation.
