At least 10 people were killed and 18 others wounded in a bomb explosion of Anbar's provincial capital of Ramadi on Sunday, a police source said.
A suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden car into a security checkpoint and blew it up in downtown of Ramadi, some 110 km west of Baghdad, leaving at least 10 killed and 18 others injured, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Iraq is witnessing some of its worst violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, terrorism and violence has killed 5,576 civilians in Iraq in the first half of this year, with 11,666 more wounded.
