The Arab League, the United Nations and the African Unio

The Arab League, the United Nations and the African Union agreed to form a troika with the aim of promoting coordination and cooperation among them to encourage national interests in Libya and push forward political dialogue.

This came in a joint statement issued at the end of a three-way meeting to discuss the situation in war-torn Libya. 

The meeting was held under Arab League chief Ahmed Abul Gheit and saw the participation of the high representative of the African Union and the special representative of the UN secretary general.

The three bodies underlined the need of having a strong military and security power in Libya.
