A magnitude 4. 6 earthquake on the Richter scale today hit the Northern regions of Pakistan. There were no reports of human casualties or material losses in the aftermath of the quake.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (Earthquakes and Seismology) said that the earthquake hit the Hindu Kush, a mountainous area on the borders between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
The inhabitants of Swat, Peshawar and Chitral regions as well as most towns located in Northern Pakistan felt the earthquake tremors.
