Soul singer Natalie Cole, the daughter of jazz legend Nat 'King' Cole who found success in her own right but struggled with substance abuse, has died at age 65, reports said Friday.

The celebrity gossip site TMZ said Cole died at a Los Angeles hospital from heart failure. Representatives for the singer could not immediately be reached on New Year's Day.
