Martin Scorsese\'s first family film \"Hugo\" won Oscars in five technical categories in Los Angeles Sunday night. The movie, which follows the adventures of a young boy living in a Paris train station in the 1930s, went into the ceremony with a leading 11 nominations. It won for Best Cinematography, Art Direction, Visual Effects, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing. \"The Artist\" won the Oscars for Costume Design and Original Score, while \"The Iron Lady\" earned the accolade for Best Makeup and \"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo\" scored the award for Best Film Editing. \"Undefeated\" was named Best Documentary, \"A Separation\" was declared Best Foreign Film and \"Rango\" won the Best Animated Feature accolade. \"Man or Muppet\" from \"The Muppets\" earned the Best Original Song distinction. Billy Crystal served as host of the event for the ninth time.
