Ron Perlman acknowledged Hellboy needs a cinematic ending during a Comic-Con panel on Thursday.

Perlman, who has played Hellboy in both films, wants to see the trilogy completed. During a Comic-Con panel for his upcoming show, Hand of God, on Amazon, he expressed wanting to give fans closure. The comments at Comic-Con come after a Twitter uproar Perlman caused at the beginning of June with Hellboy fans on social media.

Deadline reported that Perlman had to apologize to studio executives after a string of tweets and Instagram post about the third film possibly happening.

Perlman had been using social media to rally fans in hope the studio executives would listen. USA Today reported back in June, there was a possibility the studio had listened and fans would be getting the long-awaited installment.

In turns out all the excitement had been for nothing, as Perlman apologized for his tweets and posts about the unplanned movie, he said during the panel. He also expressed that he would love to see the trilogy completed and he had no intent of pushing for film four or five, but at least completing the Hellboy story line.

Since his apology, there have been no comments from director Guillermo del Toro or the studio, but it is obvious no one is more on board than Perlman.
