Paris - Itar-Tass
France’s well known actor Pierre Richard, who travelled Russia last year, said in an interview with ITAR-TASS on the eve of his jubilee, he would like to visit Russia again.
In late 2013, Pierre Richard brought to Russia his autobiographic solo performance called Pierre Richard III. He toured across the country - from Moscow to Vladivostok in the Far East.
“I believe, I have travelled Russia more than Russians do,” the actor said smiling. “Every city welcomed me amazingly. I am very grateful to the Russian audience and would like to come to you once again.”
The actor only waved head in response to the question if he considered following suit of his old friend Gerard Depardieu to buy a vineyard in Crimea.
“Gerard has been buying vineyards all over the world. He is a true wine merchant. My approach to wine is different. I am happy with my vineyard in south France (Chateau Bel Eveque). That’s in what I am investing myself fully, ” the actor said.
He said he had tried Crimean wines.
“Some of them are very good. No wonder Crimea has an old wine tradition, as the local climate is similar to that in southern France.”
While commenting on the situation around Crimea, the French actor said he was concerned about the lack of trust and by the disputes between Kiev and Moscow.
“This is a very delicate matter. I cannot be taking sides, as I have equally good attitudes to the people of Russia and to the people of Ukraine. Like everyone, I am very worried about what is happening now,” he said. “You know, there are times, where I am welcoming at my vineyard tourists from both Russia and Ukraine. They are speaking the same language, and there is no hostility between them. All problems emerge from politics.”
Pierre Richard, one of the greatest and most talented French comedians in the last 50 years, on August 16 will celebrate his 80th birthday with his family.
“I am not planning big parties,” the actor said. “There will be about twenty people - the family and best friends only.
