Actress Pamela Anderson says she's not into trends promising people everlasting youth.
In an interview with People, the 48-year-old former Baywatch actress and animal rights activist says getting older "is what it is," although she feels like she's "getting younger all the time."
"I think a little bit of maintenance is good," she said of keeping up with one's looks as they age. "There are things we can do to perks ourselves up. Some people go to far. I'm not obsessed." She admits to trying botox, but "felt like my eyes sunk into my head so far that I didn't look like me anymore. I'm not into all that stuff."
There's a secret to her graceful aging, however. The vegan cook and author of upcoming coffee table book Raw says "doing good things keeps you young."
What she means is staying active in causes she believes in. Anderson is a self-made vegan with web cooking show called The Sensual Vegan; the actress also spends much of her time advocating for the environment and the safety of animals through the Pamela Anderson Foundation.
Her upcoming book -- set to hit shelves in September -- is reportedly a behind the scenes look at the actress' life as captured by photographer Emma Dunlavey and commentated by Anderson herself.
"Sexy and funny, Raw reveals Pamela Anderson at her most intimate," the BenBella Books preview reads. The book "shows Pamela at her wildest, her silliest, and her sexiest."
Proceeds from the print edition of Raw will go to the Pamela Anderson Foundation.
