The 15-year-old son of Australian musician Nick Cave has died after falling at least 60 feet from the top of a cliff in Brighton.
Arthur Cave was discovered alive, but severely injured Tuesday evening at the foot of the Ovingdean Gap and died shortly after being airlifted to a nearby hospital. The BBC reports. Police are not treating the teen's death as suspicious.
"Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy loving boy," Cave and his wife Susie said in a statement to the press. "We ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time."
The couple's son leaves behind his twin brother, Earl. The Guardian reports that the brothers recently finished their tenth year in private school. Both had starred in their school's production of Much Ado About Nothing; Arthur played Borachio.
Nick Cave is best known for his role as frontman in the band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, which first hit the scene in the 1980s. He has four sons in total, including two -- Jethro and Luke -- from previous relationships.
