Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi has admitted to being a very conceited person in the 1990s, justifying her attitude as a result of not being fully mature and being overtaken by fame. She said that in the 90s she was still 18 years old and was very much into herself and fame and thought the world revolved around her and no one else. The singer stressed that now she is a more mature person who values life and all that it has to offer. She also realizes that being famous is not the most important thing in life, but rather her family and being responsible is much more important to her. According to the internet website MBC.net, Nawal also revealed she refused a proposal to buy the World Music Award prize for Best Arab Female Singer. She stressed that she refuses to buy her way into being recognized and would only accept an award if it was rightfully given to her based on the desire of her fans. Nawal also said that she turned down her nomination for a Goodwill Ambassador stressing that she does not have the time to fulfill the responsibilities that come with such a position.
