Four days before Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub at her home, she was involved in a car accident for which she is now being sued by a man in Georgia.
On Jan. 27, Brown lost control of her friend's Jeep Liberty and collided with a 2007 Ford Taurus being driven by Russell Eckerman, 41, of Marietta, Ga.
Eckerman, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained severe injuries, including multiple spinal and skull fractures, and facial fractures. He was put in a medically induced coma and had to undergo several surgeries.
He is suing Brown for $730,000 for medical bills and damages, saying she "was traveling at an imprudent speed for conditions and was following" his vehicle "too closely."
"Brown's actions constituted negligence in engaging in a driving manner which was ill-timed and improper, causing danger, injuries, damages, losses, physical pain, and emotional distress to Russell J. Eckerman," the lawsuit says.
The lawsuit names Brown, who is in a coma and in hospice care, her guardians, Bobby Brown and Pat Houston, her conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, and Ford Motor Company as defendants.
