British singer Lily Allen

British singer Lily Allen appeared on Friday's edition of The Jonathan Ross Show and opened up about the devastating loss of her stillborn son in 2010.
"I think it's difficult for anybody, regardless of what world it is they live in," Allen replied when Ross remarked about how traumatic it must have been for her to endure such heartbreak in the glare of the media.
"Actually, what I took home from that experience was that even though it was the most unfortunate thing that could ever happen to a person, I was very fortunate in the sense that I had a loving partner to go home to and share that experience with and there are many women -- 17 stillbirths in the United Kingdom a day -- that go home and they don't have that support. They have to go home and deal with that on their own. ... Since that happened, I've been in kind of a count-my-blessings scenario rather than feeling sorry for myself."
Allen, 29, is the daughter of actor/comedian Keith Allen and the sister of Game of Thrones co-star Alfie Allen. She married builder and decorator Sam Cooper in 2011. They have two young daughters.
