A Baltimore man hoped that a message from Pearl Jam star Eddie Vedder would help bring his ex-lover back, but what happened instead put him in jail.
Donald Lee Hamlett reportedly defied a restraining order when he penned a long letter to the rocker asking him to contact his ex. When he failed to put postage on the envelope, the Burlington Times News says the letter was marked "return-to-sender."
Hamlett's plan backfired when the letter made its way to his ex's home instead of the intended rocker's.
According to the news outlet, the woman turned the letter over to police and Hamlett was promptly taken into custody Thursday night. He is reportedly being held without bond until a District Court hearing Friday.
Loudwire observes that neither Vedder nor his band have responded to the news.
Pearl Jam is scheduled to lead the Global Citizen Festival at Central Park in New York City in September; they also have a South American tour planned later this year.
