Jeezy says Jay Z became emotional as he wrote lyrics for "Seen It All."
The 36-year-old rapper shared the story in an interview with MTV published Thursday. Jay Z raps about his drug dealing past during his cameo on the track, and told Jeezy he teared up as he penned the lyrics for the verse.
"We got on the phone and [Jay Z] was like, 'Yo, Jeezy, when I was writing the verse I had tears in my eyes, man,' because it took him so far back to Marcy," the rapper shared. "Every bar in that song was real -- I put my hand on the bible."
Jay Z grew up in the Marcy Houses housing project in Brooklyn, N.Y., and reportedly sold crack cocaine before he got his start in music. He refers to his early life in many songs, including "You Must Love Me" on his album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 (1997). The rapper has achieved landmark success in his career, and has a net worth of nearly $500 million dollars.
Jeezy and Jay Z released "Seen It All" on July 1. The track is the second single from Jeezy's upcoming album of the same name.
