Former wrestler Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan took to Twitter Monday to express gratitude to his fans and speak out against critics in the wake of his recent racial slur scandal.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, allegedly used racial slurs in a leaked 2012 sex tape. After news of this broke out on July 24, Hogan issued an apology for the incident and acknowledged that the behavior did not match who he is as a person. Hogan said there is not a racist bone in his body.

On Twitter, Hogan said he was "forever grateful" to the fans that have supported him during the crisis and said that those who have left him will see who he really is and understand his love for them.

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. removed all traces of Hogan from their promotional content, saying they cut Hogan's contract as his behavior was not in line with the company's policies. Hogan, however, said he left the organization on his own accord.

The wrestler's legal team is currently investigating the multimedia leak.
