A veteran Hollywood acting coach faces up to 13 years in prison after he was convicted Wednesday of committing a lewd act with a teenage girl.
Cameron Thor, 55, heard the guilty verdict after two days of deliberations by the jury. The acting coach was visibly upset after the decision was read -- and the accuser's family expressed relief, The Hollywood Reporter said.
"I got my life back," the girl, now 20, said after the verdict was read. "I did it, we did it. I've never felt so happy."
"I'm in shock," her father said. "I don't know if I've ever been more proud of [her]."
Thor was brought to trial and accused of sexually assaulting the teenage girl in 2009. A veteran acting coach, Thor has worked with numerous major celebrities on many high-profile films, like Jurassic Park.
"Simone Shay of the Sex Crimes Division said the victim took private classes from Thor at his Agoura Hills home. In March 2009," Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement Wednesday. "Thor drove the girl, then 13, to the Santa Monica Mountains where he sexually assaulted her."
Investigators said the sexual assaults on the girl continued for about a year.
Thor faces a prison term of between three and 13 years, and will be sentenced Oct. 9.
