Prominent Syrian singer George Wassouf denied allegations that he had described protesters in Syria, who are calling for the resignation of the government of President Bashar Al Asad, as being funded by foreign entities. The Kuwaiti newspaper “Al Rai” had released an article stating that George said there is no revolution in Syria against the government, but rather a group of spies funded by foreign countries have been placed among the people to create commotion and chaos in Syria. The press office for the singer released a press release stating that George made such statements to any news source about protesters or any other matter concerning Syria. The release also stated that the singer is still in physical therapy and continuously prays for peace and stable to return to his dear country Syria and the world. According to the internet website MBC.net, George’s health condition has been improving gradually after he had encountered a stroke and was partially paralyzed. He has begun selecting songs for his upcoming album, which he hopes he will be able to begin recording in the near future.
