Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton cut his concert short due to severe weather conditions.

The country super star was performing as headliner for the Country Jam USA music festival in Eau Claire, Wis., on July 24.

Shelton was only 45 minute into his performance when lighting started to strike, forcing officials to cancel the rest of the outdoor event.

The "Sangria" singer and The Voice coach apologized for the impromptu exit on Twitter and promised to make up for it the next time he came around.

"Sorry we got cut short Eau Claire," Shelton tweeted. "Next time, we'll make up for it!"

According to Entertainment Tonight, this is Shelton's first concert since he filed for divorce from wife and fellow country singer Miranda Lambert earlier in July.

Despite the news, fans recalled Shelton as being relaxed and happy to perform for the crowd.

E! News said Shelton joked a delay, saying, "Come on who's in charge here? this isn't my week."

The star is back at work on The Voice, and was even photographed by paparazzi pushing an empty stroller to his car. The "God Gave Me You" singer said that he meant it as a joke and that he knew cameras were on him.

It looks like despite the series of unfortunate events, Shelton will be up to make light of any situation.

After they announced their split, he and Lambert shared a quick tit-for-tat to support their mutual friend, singer Ashely Monroe.

"Hey @mirandalambert can u believe there's people who haven't bought @ashleymonroe new album?" Shelton wrote. "Isn't that shocking?!!"

Lambert responded, "@blakeshelton no I can't because it is the best work she has ever done! I love it! We love you @ashleymonroe."
