Bill Cosby says Morgan Freeman is waiting for him to die.
The 77-year-old television personality joked about the actor during his appearance on The Colbert Report. Host Stephen Colbert asked why Freeman hasn't portrayed Cosby in a movie, and the comedy legend said it is out of "respect."
"Morgan and I worked together on The Electric Company, so I think out of respect, Morgan is waiting for me to die," Cosby replied. "Not only [does he call to see how I'm feeling], but he's asked how Sydney [Poitier] is doing... how Harry Belafonte is doing, [he] wants to know how they're all doing."
"He's not a happy man," he joked. "Sometimes on the Internet somebody will post that I died, [and] Morgan calls... I think that Morgan is going to be alright. He may have to play some people that nobody knows."
Cosby is the subject of new biography Cosby: His Life and Times by Mark Whitaker. The book was published September 16, and features interviews with Cosby, his friends and associates. Freeman has no plans to portray the comedian, but will appear in Last Knights, Ted 2 and London Has Fallen in 2015.
