Bethenny Frankel says she married her second husband, Jason Hoppy, out of fear.
The 44-year-old reality star confessed as much at the New York University alumni association's Speakers on the Square event last week. Frankel and Hoppy married in March 2010. They have yet to finalize their divorce following their separation in December 2012.
"I think my instinct and gut going into my marriage [knew] it would turn out the way it did," she said. "I could feel it, but I intellectualized it. People are always talking about, 'Do I go with my head or my heart?' Go with your gut."
Frankel said her friends, family and Real Housewives executive producer Andy Cohen also influenced her decision to wed Hoppy, explaining, "I wasn't making a decision out of truth, I was making a decision out of fear."
Frankel and Hoppy share custody of 5-year-old daughter, Bryn, whose clothes the reality star controversially wore last year. Frankel was spotted holding hands with a mystery man in May, but recently declared she will never marry again.
Frankel stars on Bravo series The Real Housewives of New York City, which is in its seventh season and airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. This week's episode will see the reality star continue to feud with model Kristen Taekman.
