The Paris stock exchange opened higher by 2.34 percent on Tuesday, buoyed by gains on Wall Street and optimism that Europe's leaders are close to finding a solution to the eurozone debt crisis. The CAC 40 index was up 66.96 points at 2.926.3 points. Tuesday's opening gains followed a good day for shares on Monday, when the market rose 1.75 percent amid greater confidence French banks will survive a liquidity squeeze.
