German rail service

Rail services in Germany will not return to normal immediately even though the train drivers' union decided to end their strike on Saturday, earlier than planned, dpa reported.
Long-distance trains especially will continue to be affected Sunday but shorter routes will see a dramatic increase in trains on the same day, said Deutsche Bahn, the national rail company. It added that it expects 60 per cent of routes to be back on Sunday.
Train drivers began the strike, which has affected a third of long-distance passenger rail travel, on Thursday.
