The first edition of "TUNIS 2.0" is due to be organised next September 30-October 1 in Tunis, with the participation of over 500 heads of enterprises, civil servants and experts from Tunisia, Australia, USA, France and Spain. The meeting will discuss themes pertaining to the market 2.0, enterprise 2.0, development 2.0 and government 2.0. The "Tunis 2.0" project is a civic initiative aimed to change Tunis city into a digital city, as "New York 2.0" or "Paris 2.0." It is also aimed to make Tunis city and Tunisia as a whole be digitally present on the Web, to develop and create contents. The idea of the project which has been in preparation since June 2010, aims to exploit the existing resources on the Web, particularly among youths who are largely represented on social networks, such as Facebook which counts more than 600 million users or twitter which is used by nearly 195 million persons. Mr. Mounir Grammi, engineer in multimedia, Internet and new technologies said during a meeting with the press to present the project, that "Tunis 2.0" aims to organise the use of social networks and favour the production of contents, notably by encouraging new ideas and start-up projects. A start-up competition will be organised on the sidelines of this event, Mr. Abdelmajid Abidi, e-marketer pointed out, explaining that the objective behind this competition is to share experiences, expertise and feedback on the best practices in the Web 2.0.
