Kuwaiti charitable trusts will not be allowed to collect cash donations during Ramadan, the social affairs and labour ministry has said. \"The Charitable Trusts Department has decided there will be no cash donations in an attempt to protect charitable work in the country,\" said Ahmad Al Sanea, a supervisor. \"The presence of 1,300 mosques in different places around the country makes it hard for inspectors to make sure that all donations are monitored.\" People can make donations with charity organisations through credit card or bank deductions, methods that can easily be monitored by the state services, unlike cash donations, Kuwait Times reported on Wednesday. Mohammad Al Afasi, the social affairs minister, ordered the formation of a special commission to follow up violations that are committed by charitable organisations during Ramadan, scheduled to start on August 1.
