Japan\'s key consumer price index climbed 0.6% in April from a year earlier for the first rise in more than 2 years, the government said Friday, reported Japan\'\'s Kyodo news agency. The core index, which excludes volatile fresh food prices, stood at 99.8 against a base of 100 from 2005, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said. The figure matched the 0.6% increase forecast by economists in a Kyodo News survey.
