A recent survey conducted by iProperty.com has revealed that 83 per cent of Malaysian urbanites don\'t prefer public transportation which compromises bus, railway and taxi services. In the Klang Valley, there is an integrated public transportation system incorporating the Light Rail Transit, monorail, railway, and bus services. A total of 952 respondents took part in the survey and 83 per cent said they would only opt for public transportation if it was as efficient as those found in like Hong Kong and Singapore. \"The survey provided a good insight of public transportation usage in the country. \"The main criteria individuals or families looked at when buying or renting a property is the accessibility and efficiency of the public transportation system in a particular area,\" said iProperty.com Group Chief Executive Shaun Di Gregorio. He also said if the system met their requirement and required minimal transits, they would opt to use it instead of driving.
